The bare rig (with no hooks or hardware) allows you to customise the rig setup by adding your preferred terminal tackle. This head is designed for medium baits in the 15-25cm (6-8in) range. 

Every angler will have their own preference for hooks and wire gauge so buying the bare Reaper Rig gives the benefits of this easy to use, effective dead-bait trolling rig but enables you to choose your own hooks. It can be rigged with ganged single j-hooks, multiple trebles (stingers), or a combination of singles and trebles to suit your bait length.

Reaper rig lure

Lure worked exactly as described. The baits swam straight and held up for a long time. I was actually able to remove the ballyhoo from the lure, refreeze them, and pull them on a second trip. One of the lures broke during fish strike. I notified the supplier and they immediately sent a replacement.

handy piece of gear

Hooked a few dollies and in each case they jumped and threw the trebles. Seems as though the heavy head makes it easy for them to shake it off. Don't know the answer, just an observation.
